HP has announced the addition of the Scanjet G3110 Photo Scanner to its range.

The G3110 features an easy-to-use interface and one-touch buttons for speedy scanning. It boasts 4800 x 9600 dpi and 48-bit colour resolution scanning, so you'll be getting good image quality from your scans.

The scanning technology included in the G3110 will allow users to enhance their scanned images, by restoring faded colour, correcting any flaws caused by dust particles and scratches, and also removing red eye.

The G3110 is a timesaver by being able to scan up to three 4 x 6-inch photos at once and automatically save them as individual files, as well as save scanned documents directly into PDF format using the Scan to PDF button on the scanner lid.

The Scan to Email function is similarly helpful, scanning photos or documents and sending them directly to an email address, while you can also set scanned documents and photos to be printed automatically by the PC's default printer.

Only US prices for the G3110 have been released as yet, with a price tag of $99.99 (around £50).
