Tokina has said it is working on adding autofocus motors to its Nikon-mount lenses.

This will enable autofocus with the more budget camera bodies such as the D40, D40x and D60.

The first lens to benefit from the update will be the popular AT-X Pro SD 12-24mm F4 (IF) DX wideangle, a motorised version of which is being exhibited at Photokina for the first time .

News on more lenses in the lineup is expected to trickle through shortly.
