Pentax has launched an array of lenses at Photokina but there's more to come.

The company has revealed that it is currently developing the tentatively named smc PENTAX DA* 15mm F4 ED AL Limited.

This ultra-wide-angle DA Star Limited series lens is being designed for exclusive use with Pentax DSLRs.

The manufacturer is promising extremely compact and light construction; an aluminium body and integrated hood.

It is scheduled for arrival early next year.

Also in development is the smc Pentax-DA 1.4X Rear Converter SDM, which is the first rear converter equipped for autofocus operation Pentax DSLRs.

It will have an SDM mechanism for "extra-smooth, super-quiet autofocus" operation but will also be compatible with conventional (mechanical) autofocus systems.

There are no prices as yet.
