Sigma updates the 50mm F1.4 EX DG HSM lens

For use with Four Thirds system

Sigma has announced an updated version of large aperture lens 50mm F1.4 EX DG HSM, for use with cameras using the Four Thirds system.

The 50mm F1.4 EX DG HSM becomes a medium telephoto lens offering 100mm equivalent angle of view on Four Thirds cameras. Even at maximum aperture, the lens has good peripheral brightness and corrects any possible sagittal coma flare.

Sigma say the optimum optical design and molded glass aspherical lens elements provide excellent correction for all types of aberrations. For example, the inclusion of super multi-layer lens coating reduces flare and ghosting.

It has a minimum focusing distance of 45cm and has maximum magnification of 1:7.4. The lens incorporates HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor), which ensures a quiet and high-speed AF as well as full-time manual focus override.

The lens retails for £379.99 but no news when it will be on the market as yet.
