Nikon will be once again be supporting The Open Golf Championship as a patron of the prestigious event, having done so every year since 1993.The Championship takes place this year at Royal Birkdale, Lancashire, voted the best course in Britain, from 17–20 July.
The Open Golf Championship is certainly Nikon's most significant worldwide sponsorship. Last year Nikon committed to another 5-year deal, seeing its patronage extend until 2012 and of course ensuring a prominent brand presence at the event.
Jeremy Gilbert, Group Marketing Manager, Nikon UK says: "Nikon's patronage of The Open Golf Championship continues to be central to our sponsorship activity, effectively enhancing our brand message across the Nikon range. We are looking forward to this year's event and maximising our position over the coming years".
Visitors to the course should look out for Nikon's retail unit in the Tented Village where they will be able to check out the latest Coolpix range and the new range of laser rangefinders, including the 350G.
Here, Nikon will also be hosting the National Longest Drive Competition for charity. Those wanting to practice their swing and be in with a chance of winning a Coolpix camera can come and take a shot, with proceeds going to the Princess Alice Hospice.
A dedicated photography service depot will also be on site for professional photographers, not to mention Nikon photographers who will be capturing The Open experience in pictures as souvenirs for visitors, which will be downloadable for free from Nikon's website after the event.
