Akvis announces Magnifier software

Resizes pictures without loss of quality

Akvis has announced the release of Akvis Magnifier, a new standalone program that allows you to resize images without a noticeable loss in quality.

If you've ever tried to make a picture bigger using the standard resize command of a photo editor, you'll probably have seen the resulting photo comes up blurry and pixelated.

The reason behind this? The input photo didn't contain enough information for the new size. Akvis claim its Magnifier software will cope with this problem and deliver good results.

For the moment, the software is available only as a standalone application but a plug-in version is in development. You can download the software on a trial period for ten days if you fancy seeing what it can do first.

Good news for registers Akvis registered users who have purchased plug-ins from the company before - if you've bought at least one, you'll get a 20% discount on the Magnifier program, and those that have bought all plug-ins get it for half price. Email Akvis to qualify for the offer - it's valid until August 31st.
