24 June 2008 21:03 GMT / By Verity Burns

Panasonic have released a new firmware update for both the DMC-TZ4 and TZ5 digital cameras.

Version 1.2 simply “improves auto focus performance" that had been lacking in some reviews of the cameras.

Panasonic recommends these steps for installing the update:

STEP 1. Check the current version of firmware used by your camera.
STEP 2. Download an updated version of the firmware and double click the downloaded file to decompress it.
STEP 3. Copy the firmware file onto an SD Memory Card (8MB or more must be free.
STEP 4. Install the firmware update.

To check which version you already have installed, select playback mode while the camera is on. Press the down button while holding down the E.ZOOM button, and the version should appear on the bottom right of the picture.

For more details on all of the updating procedure, head over to the Panasonic website.
