Parrot launches "designer" photo frame

Teams with famed French artist for latest digital offering

Parrot has teamed up with leading lady of French design, Andrée Putman to help inject a bit of style into their latest digital photo frame.

The design is bold yet minimalistic, with its black and white tones combining the sought-after art style of Putman with the technology that Parrot is known for.

No, it doesn't just look pretty – with an emphasis on picture quality, Parrot's frame features a 15cm LCD screen that displays up to 262,144 shades of colour for bright pictures. All photos will also be rotated and resized accordingly so that you get the most from them – and if you rotate the frame itself, the photos are all automatically adjusted to right position in a rather iPhone-esque way.

Speaking of phones, you'll be able to transfer snaps from your mobile straight to the frame via Bluetooth should you wish, so no wires required. However, the frame also has a few other ways to upload your photos – either via SD card or by connecting a mini USB cable.

To top it all off, you don't even have to buy an extra SD card to keep the photos on, the frame features internal memory capable of holding 400 photos.

Andrée Putman said: "I would like to pay tribute to Parrot for daring to think that this wonder of technology could be coiled up inside a beautiful wrapping".

Henri Seydoux, CEO and founder of Parrot added: "Here at Parrot, we have always put design in the limelight. The Parrot frame by Andrée Putman is the first in a series of artistic dedications for our range of wireless audiovisual products".

The Parrot digital photo frame by Andrée Putman will be available in exclusive concept stores across Europe and Asia in June 2008 and will cost around £249.99.
