Canon EOS 40D rumours resurface

Canon Hong Kong to blame

23 January 2007 15:37 GMT / By Stuart Miles

A leaked page on the Canon Hong Kong website suggests that Canon maybe about to announce a new digital EOS model at PMA in a few weeks time.

Although the page has disappeared (fuelling speculations further) the new model is rumoured to be the EOS 40D.

However even when the page was live (see screenshot) there were no technical details listed.

It's not the first time the camera has been rumoured to be launching. Rumours first appeared last year that Canon would announce the new model in September 2006 with an increased megapixel count to match the company's 10.1 megapixel 400D.

We will keep you posted.
