Kodak has quietly launched a new 6 megapixel camera in the US; the Kodak Easyshare C653.

Added to the company's website, rather than getting a full blown press release, the new entry-level camera features a 3x optical zoom lens equivalent to 36–108mm, 2.4-inch LCD screen, digital IS using anti-blur mode to reduce blur caused by camera or subject movement, 20 program scenes, three colour modes and a panorama stitch mode.

The camera also features 32MB of internal memory to store images.

The new model costs $129.95 and is available now.

Expect more announcements at CES 2007 in Las Vegas next week.
