While the big news from yesterday was Verizon's launch of the Motorola Droid, the announcement had some interesting, related side effects as far as the consumer technology market goes.
The biggest of which was Google's surprise revelation of its Maps Navigation, soon to be seen on all Android 2.0 phones. More news stemming from these developments is that not only is Verizon planning a whole family of Droid branded devices but that the HTC Hero may come in an Android 2.0 flavour.
As well as Google's potentially disruptive Maps announcement, we've brought you the news that Google's PowerMeter solution is to be available to UK consumers, something we've taken a long hard look at as just one part of today's Google-themed comment piece.
Elsewhere in more UK-centric news, 3 has revealed it is to undercut Vodafone with its pricing on the Sony Ericsson Satio and Peter Mandelson has followed through... with his three strikes policy.
