Nokia N97 gets update as N97 Mini goes on sale

Version 2.0 available to download now

29 October 2009 9:36 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

As expected, Nokia has released a new Nokia N97 software update, version 2.0 that claims to add "new user experience elements and functionalities to the device".

The standard version of the update is available now, via user's PCs at www.nokia.com/softwareupdate, and will be followed by a range of country and operator versions over the coming weeks, as well, Nokia says, as the possibility to do the update over-the-air.

The 2.0 software update adds "flip scrolling", shortcuts to personalised homescreen, Ovi Maps 3.1 with 3D maps, Nokia e-mail, Ovi Contacts and the Ovi Store.

While N97 users are busy trying to update their handsets, the Nokia N97 mini makes its debut in stores, priced at £429.
