The makers of BigDog have unveiled PetMan, a biped robotic that could be used to test military suits that might one day protect soldiers in chemical warfare.

Boston Dynamics describes the machine as a "biped robot that balances dynamically using a human-like walking motion. It is a close relative to BigDog, sharing elements of the mechanical design and control".

Hit play on the video above to see PetMan in action at speeds over over 3 miles per hour - even a sharp shove does not put it off its stride.
