Sony Ericsson Rachael hitting 3 November

Teaser page leaks details

Sony Ericsson Rachael hitting 3 November

27 October 2009 5:03 GMT / By Stuart Miles

Sony Ericsson is expected to announce the "Rachael" handset on the 3 November.

Although the company has yet to officially confirm the news, it has started a teaser campaign for the handset on its website.

"Sometimes there’s a thin line between the extraordinary and the magical. Did we cross it?" the slogan reads on Sonyericsson.com/whatsnext.

Why experts think it's the Rachael? Well it seems the web developers weren't the sharpest tools in the box when it came to coding the page - the main image is titled "Rachael - infinity".

The news comes just 1 week after spy shots of the Xperia 3 leaked (codenamed Rachel) showing the new handset packing the Android operating system.

At the time, the official Twitter account of Ericsson Labs (which isn't part of Sony Ericsson, technically) has been retweeting a rumour that the handset will be announced in November.

It's rumoured to contain an 8-megapixel camera, 3.5mm headphone jack, 800 x 400 display and microSD card expansion slot.

With the 3 November just around the corner, we will keep you posted.
