The inPulse "smartwatch" wristwatch for BlackBerry has been officially launched by Allerta, a Waterloo, Ontario-based company working with RIM on the new hardware.
As with similar wrist-based Bluetooth efforts, the inPulse connects wirelessly to the phone and offers alerts for incoming emails, SMS and calls.
"inPulse extends the functionality of your BlackBerry smartphone, so when you're in a pinch you can check your inPulse instead of fumbling around with your phone", says Allerta.
What's being described as a "limited first edition" (which hopefully doesn't mean "buggy") inPulse watch can be pre-ordered now for $149 over at www.freeupyourhands.com.
