D-Link, has introduced the industry's first flip-style mobile Wi-Fi phone that allows users to make calls wherever there is open Wi-Fi access.

Calls from the D-Link phone are made via TelTel a competitor of internet telephone company Skype.

The phone will come with a colour backlit LCD display, a keypad with backlight, speed dial, redial, multiple ringtones, email access, volume control and other conveniences.

Users also will receive virtually all of the IP telephone services included with the PC version of the TelTel softphone.

The phone is expected to cost $249.99 when it launches. The company has yet to confirm a UK release date or price.

Users unable to wait, might do better opting for NetGear's or Vonage similar offering.
