Apple launches new iMacs

Apple has launched an all new iMac line headed up by a 2560 x 1440 resolution 27-inch model with a 1920 x 1080 resolution 21.5-inch model also available.

Both offer LED-backlit widescreen displays in a new edge-to-edge glass design with a "seamless" all aluminium enclosure.

Boasting Intel 2 Core Duo processors starting at 3.06GHz, there's also Core i5 and i7 quad-core options for those with the cash.

The new iMacs ship with a wireless keyboard and the new wireless multi-touch "Magic Mouse".

"The iMac is widely praised as the best desktop computer in the world and today we are making it even better", says Phil Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of worldwide product marketing.
 
Specs include Nvidia GeForce or ATI Radeon graphics, between 4GB and 16GB DDR3 memory, an iSight webcam, stereo speakers, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, Ethernet, four USB ports, FireWire 800 and a built-in card slot.

Pricing starts from £949 - the same as before.
