A new mountain bike trail for Grizedale Forest has been built thanks to sponsorship from The North Face and Rural Regeneration Cumbria.

Starting at the Visitor Centre in Grizedale Forest the new North Face Mountain Bike Trail is a 10 mile track consisting of 9 new sections of sinuous single track trail on the west side of Grizedale Forest. The trail offers adrenalising sections of single track descent with leg-burning up-hills, contouring through oak woodlands and conifer forest.

This challenging trail also gives the mountain biker tricky board walk sections through meadows yet reward the trail rider with outstanding views along the way.

This new trail at Grizedale was built by the welsh team responsible for the very successful Afan Forest Trails in the Swansea area.

The trail build has been made possible through The North Face Mountain Bike Trail Partnership. The partners are The North Face, Rural Regeneration Cumbria and The Forestry Commission at a cost of £170,000.

The official launch of the trail was at the beginning of March and the track is now reported to be fully open.
