T-Mobile has finally released the firmware update for its T-Mobile G2 handset in the UK HTC has confirmed.
Although Orange customers have been using the new Orange HTC Hero firmware update for over 2 weeks for their version of the HTC Hero, T-Mobile customers have been left in the dark with T-Mobile giving no reason for the delay.
The new update, which shouldn't be confused with the expected Android donut 1.6 OS update, improves performance of the handset and general bug fixes.
Orange users who have already downloaded the update have reported vast improvements in speed and usability of the device.
G2 users are required to download the update and install it via a PC as the update software isn't Mac compatible.
T-Mobile also notes that "Downloading and updating your software may take some time due to the volume of interest there is in this latest update, so please be patient".
