• It looks as if this device would be a good 'entry-level' satnav for those drivers who just want to have a simple, cost-effective device from the most reliable satnav provider, that will provide the basics to see how they get on with one. • I have just bought the European Start model with mapping for 42 countries . It has an amazingly sensitive GPS receiver and was working with 8 satellites indoors!
  I have a problem though, apparently they released 500 or so of these without the full UK postcode search and mine is obviously of one of those, and it will be a 2-3 weeks before they release a software update to fix the problem. • I've found a 2nd major problem. My TomTom Start does not show any Points of Interest on the map that is displayed when you are navigating! They are only displayed when you select Browse Map - how stupid is that!. Looks like this model was rushed out to meet the Christmas sales rush without proper testing. I'm sending mine back.
