T-Mobile offers mobile broadband gift bundles

The gift of browsing

30 September 2009 16:40 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

In time for Christmas, T-Mobile has unveiled mobile broadband "gift packs" with 3- and 12-month bundles available.

The bundles include a T-Mobile 150 mobile broadband USB stick and "unlimited" browsing for a single payment.

However, a glance at the small print reveals that it is of course not actually unlimited, as you'd expect, but T-Mobile goes further to say it does not include "watching videos" or any kind of downloads.

The Mobile Broadband 3 Month Gift Pack costs £44.03, which T-Mo reckons is a saving of over 25% compared to prepay.

The year-long option has a one-time cost of £146.79, again, said to be a saving, this time of 20%.

  • "or any kind of downloads" - how do you donwload a webpage ? Does a video embedded in flash constitute a flash app or a video ?
Basically it sounds like 'give us money and we'll give you nothing in return'. Good for their end of year bottom line.

  • Considering the kind of performance I got out of T-Mobile's HSDPA yesterday, I wouldn't give this 'present' to anyone I wanted to keep their sanity. Posted by GK, UK
