Once upon a time, Autotrader was one of my least favourite sites. It was truly horrible to use and awful to look at. But it was something of a necessary evil when it came to looking for a new car.

I cannot tell you how delighted I am to see they’ve given it a serious makeover.

It’s still got all the tools you need to find your perfect set of wheels. Now it’s just not going to drive you mad at the same time.

A long overdue improvement

  • You have to be kidding! I use Firefox and you can't return any search results. Yes I agree the design was a bit ancient before but at least it worked! This has been thrown up without testing in all 5 major browsers. Sort of thing you only expect from amateurs. It's rubbish don't waste your time. Oh and I found my current car on the old version, say no more. Posted by Wildfire, UK
  • you are having a laugh, the new site is awful, as what wilfire says above and have you tried it on a mobile?...

Plenty of cars out there and plenty of ways of finding one without the woeful autotrader website

  • Ian Hughes.....are you for real?

The new site is awful. Clearly they have emplyed NO user testing. The search is a right mess. And is about as usful as a chocolate teapot.

The heading - WEBSITE OF THE DAY - autotrader

    What were you thinking... lol

  • Ian Hughes, are you on the Autotrader pay role? I think you must be or you just don't know what you are talking about. This breaks every usability rule in the book! I don't know a site which I find more frustrating, honestly I'm really not joking! Autotrader should not get work experience secondary school pupils to design business critical functionality. I agree it wasn't great before but at least it was 80% usable. Posted by Richard, UK
