Apple planning iMac revisions?

Rumours claim new series coming "this month"

25 September 2009 10:53 GMT / By Duncan Geere

It's being claimed that Apple is set to release a new family of iMacs, which could arrive in Apple Stores as soon as within the next month. Rumours suggest that the revamped models will be both thinner and more affordable.

There's even rumblings that Apple is set to take a U-turn on Blu-ray - a tech that Steve Jobs once referred to as a "bag of hurt" from the perspective of licensing. However - a Blu-ray drive would almost certainly be an optional extra on machines, thanks to its high cost.

While details are still scarce at the time of writing, an announcement should be due relatively soon if the products are as imminent as is claimed. We'll let you know the very second that we hear anything.
