2009 may mean a lot of things to a lot of people but for Acer it's time to remind the world of its partnership with Ferrari by the launch of the annual motor car inspired laptop. This year sees the arrival of the Ferrari One, the first netbook to be handed the label. That said, the Ferrari One does push the boundaries of the definition of netbook with its 11.6-inch screen, dual core AMD L310 processor, 2GB of RAM and 1.5kg mass but as the Acer UK general manager, Bobby Watkins said:

"It's positioned as a netbook because that's how we expect the consumer is going to use it."

It's a got a full size keyboard with generous, flat, finger hitting buttons; an LED backlit screen with an HD resolution of 1366 x 768 and all the ports you need with HDMI, VGA, XGP all represented plus 3 x USB 2.0. There's a webcam, 250GB HDD and it's also 3G ready as well as good for Wi-Fi and gigabit Ethernet.

Dolby Home Theatre adds the icing on the cake plus full touchpad gesture control often found on the ACer machines. The Ferrari One is out on 22nd October in conjunction with Windows 7 Premium and will cost £399.99.
