Nettops coming to the UK

Asus has announced a new set of nettops that'll be coming to the UK before Christmas. The Eee Top ET2002 and ET2203, the company says, "provide fingertip access to a wealth of technology". As that suggests - they're equipped with touchscreens.

They come in 20-inch and 21.6-inch versions, respectively, and have hi-fi speakers with SRS Surround Sound. They both have Bluetooth, b/g/n Wi-Fi and 1080p media support, and the ET2203 also comes equipped with a Blu-ray drive and the "Total Media Centre". They run Windows 7 Premium.

The ET2002 has an Intel Atom Duo Core 330 chip, Nvidia ION graphics, and 2GB of RAM. There's a 250GB hard disk and 1-megapixel webcam along with memory card slot and a DVD writer. It costs £560.

The ET2203, on the other hand, pumps up the specs to a Core 2 Duo T6600 processor, 4GB of RAM, a 400GB hard disk and discrete ATI Radeon HD 4570 graphics - which should be enough to run most modern games. It has the aforementioned Blu-ray drive, and a memory card slot like the 2002. It costs £820.

Both will be available from 22 October 2009.
