LG has announced a new handset for what it calls its social networking range.

The "made for messaging" GPRS GW300 gets a full QWERTY keypad, 2.4-inch landscape display and a five-way navigational pad.

There's a designated Facebook app and "LiveSquare", which shows favourite contacts on the homescreen as avatars.

Specs include a 3.5mm headphone jack, FM radio, Bluetooth 2.1, WAP browser, 2-megapixel camera, and expandable memory up to 4GB.

The GW300 is due to be available from O2 in electric blue and in vibrant red on Orange.
