MySpace announces Twitter syncing

Stick your MySpace status updates on your Twitter feed

22 September 2009 9:19 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

Rather than fight 'em, MySpace is joining 'em with the news that the social networking service now syncs with Twitter.

The global beta roll-out of a new functionality on MySpace that lets users sync their MySpace status updates with their Twitter feed has begun in the US.

Any US user can now opt-in to sync their status so that any update created on MySpace will appear in their Twitter feed and any Twitter feed update will appear within their MySpace status and mood.

The status sync can be enabled for one-way or two-way and when updates are posted to Twitter, readers have a link back to MySpace.

Using open authentication technology, or OAuth, MySpace says data and account credentials shared between sites are safe and protected.
