MSI has announced the launch of what it says is its "super slim, ultra stylish, economically priced MSI X400 notebook".

Running Windows Vista and offering an Intel Centrino processor, the 14-inch notebook's "economic" price comes in at £499 and £569, depending on spec.

The X400 boasts a 14-inch HD widescreen display, HDMI, Bluetooth and wireless n connectivity.

Lightweight at 1.5kg including battery and measuring 9mm thick, the notebook is offered in piano black and pearl white.

The new notebook is offered as two versions - the X400-038UK comes with 500GB HDD, SU3500 CPU and an external optical drive for £569 while the £499 X400-074UK comes with 320GB HDD, SU2700 CPU and loses the optical drive.

Other specs of note include 2GB memory, just two USB 2.0 ports, a 2-in-1 card reader, 1.3MP webcam and MSI's "Vivid Image Enhancement" tech that claims to "give more 3D expression" with movies, pics and games.
