Imation has announced the launch of its new 2.5-inch Apollo UX external hard drives.

Designed for "demanding users", the slim and lightweight drives are designed "to fit in the palm of your hand" and claim shock resistance.

The Apollo UX range is offered in 250GB, 320GB and 500GB capacities and gets a rubber casing to prevent scratches and abrasions.

The bus-powered, plug'n'play UX drives boast one touch Imation Live backup software and are compatible with specific Apple Time Machine.

The new range is available now in shops and online throughout Europe, no pricing revealed.
