The hard drive that thinks it's a hip flask

18 September 2009 17:24 GMT / By Stuart Miles

It might look like a hip flask, but the picture above is actually a new 500GB hard drive from Iomega as part of its Iomega eGo Portable Hard Drive range.

The new model, which is encased in "genuine" brown leather, a spokesman for the company told us, is USB 2.0 powered, comes with EMC Retrospect backup software and Iomega's Home Online service that gives you 2GB of backup in the cloud.

But why do we think it is the most disappointing product ever?

Because nobody thought to make space for a wee dram of whiskey when you're out and about and need a fix.
