Vodafone creates Twitter-powered real time top 40

Ben Marsh-made tweet-based music chart

18 September 2009 9:48 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

Vodafone and Ben Marsh are continuing their Twitter experimentation with the development of the "first interactive real time top 40 for music lovers".

"Tweet the artist you're listening to and watch your tweet help define the UK’s real-time top 40", says the operator.

The real time top 40 captures detail through constant updates on who and what tweeters are listing to.

You can cast your vote by tweeting the hashtag #RealTimeTop40 and the name of the artist and track you are listening to.

Vodafone says your vote will be counted and appear on the billboard over at www.realtimetop40.com within a few minutes.

As we've written this, we can report the tune currently topping the charts is Patrick Swayze's "She's Like the Wind", a classic if there ever was one.
