New security software available

Following the beta releases earlier in the year, Symantec has now officially launched its 2010 Norton products.

Norton Internet Security 2010 and Norton AntiVirus 2010 get new security tech, codenamed "Quorum", for what's said to be fast detection of ever-changing new malware.

Symantec says the new products are fast to install, use less memory than previous products (Norton Internet Security 2010 uses just over 10MB) and offers fast scans - Norton Internet Security 2010 scans in 61 seconds on a hard disk drive.

Norton Internet Security 2010 and Norton AntiVirus 2010 are available now for purchase in the UK on the Symantec online store for £49.99 and £39.99.

In addition, Norton Internet Security 2010 "Netbook Edition" will be available in shops in the UK from late October for £39.99.
