Hercules eCAFE netbook announced

Hercules, a manufacturer that produces speakers, webcams and the like, has entered the netbook market with the launch of the 10.1-inch eCAFE EC-1000W.

Specs include the Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 250GB HDD, Wi-Fi "N", chiclet keyboard, three USB ports and a card reader.

Offering Windows 7 Starter, Hercules has customised the netbook to offer eCAFE "Email Center", eCAFE "Update Manager" and the eCAFE "Webcam Station".

The eCAFE EC-1000W will be available in the States at the end of October 2009 for the suggested retail price of $399. No word yet on a UK launch.
