LG has announced a new range of notebooks - the "Widebook" series, all of which feature a wide, 16:9, LED-backlit display.Offering Intel Core 2 Duo processors, the range comprises of five models - the 15-inch R580/R560, the 14-inch R480/R460 and 13.3-inch R380.
In LG's words, "the R580 and R480 are positioned as premium models and sport a stylish design, while the R560 and R460 are reliable everyday workhorses and the R380 offers a blend of performance at an affordable price".
Specs include SRS TruSurround HD, 2GB or 4GB memory, Nvidia GeForce graphics, 3G modem, 1.3-megapixel webcam, HDMI and e-SATA, while the premium R580 gets a Blu-ray drive.
The Widebooks will be available in "shiny white" and "crystal black", while the R380 aims at the youth market in white, black and pink schemes.
The new notebooks are due to be rolled out in Turkey, Dubai and Saudi Arabia, then countries in Asia, Europe, North America and Latin America throughout September, no pricing revealed.
