So, have you got your New Year sorted? It’s not a daft question if you’re planning on doing anything north of the border this year. Scotland has become the unofficial home of the New Year with its Hogmanay celebrations dominating the TV festivities for as long as we can remember.

But if you want to be there in the flesh, you need to get in early.

This little shindig, The Hoog, was the talk of Edinburgh last year and the tickets go on sale for 2009 this week. It’s a two-day event, with the Family Hoog on the 30th and The Hoog itself on New Year’s Eve.

Kilts optional.
