Google releases Chrome 3 browser
Brings speed improvements

It's been a little over a year since Chrome unexpectedly burst screaming into the world and helped to reignite the browser wars, and Google hasn't been lying down when it comes to its development. The third edition of the browser has just graduated from the "beta" to the "stable" channel - signifying its official release.
The update brings considerably improved speed - already one of Chrome's most popular features - and support for HTML 5 video tags. There's also a few UI improvements, and a redesigned new tab page where you can move individual favourites around.
You can go and download the update right now from Google, if you like, but it'll be automatically rolled out to your computer over the next few weeks even if you don't do anything. Of course, if you want to be on the bleeding edge of software updates, you can always subscribe to the dev channel, which already has version 4.
