We ran into a few bugs in our brief testing - there doesn't seem to be a way to use predictive text, which is a pain in long web entry forms. The "find on page" functionality seemed a little cranky, too. Many would argue, though, that this is a substantial improvement to the mobile browser and should further increase its popularity on handheld devices.

Opera has announced that version 5 of its Opera Mini mobile browser has been made available in beta. It's a fairly radical overhaul of the browser that sees the addition of tabbed browsing, speed dial and the Google search box from the main browser.It also has a new UI design, the option of touchscreen or keypad browsing, a password manager and a new set of navigation buttons.
