Here are a few snaps from the launch of Motorola's DEXT handset, which runs on the Android operating system. It's a QWERTY slider, like the original G1, but Motorola's chucked on some software to aggregate your friends together in a "lifestreaming" sort of way - called Motoblur.

The handset itself isn't unattractive, though it isn't quite as slick as the HTC Hero. The QWERTY keyboard does add a bit of chunk to its thickness, too. However, if you're dead set on a QWERTY'd Android handset, then this seems a better option than the year-old G1.

The handset will be available in early October from Orange on a 24-month deal with 900 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited internet. It'll cost you £35 a month.
