Sony Ericsson has launched a new speaker system that lets music lovers get the most from their Sony Ericsson music phones.

The MP001 is a stereo speakers set designed hide-away subwoofer capable of delivering 25W (RMS) of music power. To use the system, owners of the Walkman branded handsets simply place their phone in the cradle mount at the front.

The MP001 promises a 32 bit Sony S-Master Digital amplifier at the core of the system, the same technology Sony uses in its Home Theatre systems to car audio products.

Sony Ericsson is also boasting that because the Walkman range of phones comes with an FM radio, the unit will also double up as a home radio to boot and essentials like volume, bass and treble can be controlled from a remote.

The MP001 is compatible with all Sony Ericsson music phones with Fast Port.
