Western Digital refreshes My Passport and My Book ranges

Smaller storage solutions

Western Digital has launched "smaller, smarter and more secure" My Passport Essential and My Passport for Mac ultra-portable external hard drives and "smaller, sleeker" My Book Essential and My Book for Mac desktop external hard drives.

All models feature WD's new "SmartWare" software that offers visual backup displays that show content in categories as well as shows the progress of backup and are also equipped with hardware-based encryption.

The new My Passport drives are more than 20% smaller than the previous gen and range from 320 GB to 1TB and come in a range of colours including pacific blue, real red, cool silver and midnight black with prices ranging from £54.99 to £169.99 depending on model.

The new My Book Essential and My Book for Mac drives are offered in capacities ranging from 500 GB to 2TB. Pricing is from £74.99 to £179.99 depending on model.
