Puts faith in Android

Motorola has promised it will launch multiple handsets in the coming months based on the Android platform the company's CEO has confirmed.

"We will be introducing many more devices featuring this solution in 2010 in a variety of form factors," Motorola CEO Dr. Sanjay K Jha said.

Jha confirmed a second time at a later point in the launch that "We [Motorola] are planning Multiple to 10s of products in the coming months," although admitted that the Thursday's launch of the Motorola DEXT (or CLIQ as it will be called in the US) wasn't going to be enough to turn the company's fortunes around straight away.

Although most of the new devices are expected to be announced in 2010, Jha said that the company had one more announcement before the end of the year although failed to elaborate further.
