HP has announced three new business notebooks featuring the new Intel Dual-Core processor from Intel.

The new models include a 17-inch widescreen display, enhanced security features and thin-and-light form factor.

The three new models are the HP Compaq nx9420, nx6310 and nc6320.

The HP Compaq nx9420 Notebook PC features a 17-inch widescreen display, Intel Core Duo processor and the promise of four hours of battery life. It will weigh a rather heavy 3.35kg and be 33mm thick.

Graphics are provided by a ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 PCI Express Graphics Controller with 256MB dedicated video memory to handle complex 3D graphics.

The HP Compaq nx6310 and nc6320 Notebook PCs are supposedly designed for cost-conscious buyer. Weighing just 2.7kgs and measuring only 30.3mm thin, both notebooks offer over 4 hours of battery life and a choice of the latest processor technologies, including the new Intel Core Duo processor.

HP is also offering using the new models the chance to up the battery life to up to 10 additional hours.

The HP Compaq nx9420, nx6310 and nc6320 offer added security via a fingerprint reader and integrated 7-in-1 media reader.

The HP Compaq nx9420 Notebook PC will be available from mid-March 2006. Entry level pricing and configurations are outlined below.

- Core Duo T2400 (1.83GHz), 17"WXGA+AG, 512mb (1 dimm), 80GB 5400rpm, DVD+/-RW DL, Intel 802.11a/b/g, BT, 1yr wrty - £1099 (ex VAT)
- Core Duo T2600 (2.16GHz), 17"WSXGA+ Brightview, 1024mb (1 dimm), 100GB 5400rpm, DVD+/-RW DL, Intel 802.11a/b/g, BT, 1yr wrty - £1499 (ex VAT)

The HP Compaq nx6310 and nc6320 Notebook PCs will be available early-April 2006.
