The Creative Jukebox Zen Xtra incorporates an extra-large display and increased storage capacity with room for up to 16,000 songsCreative (Nasdaq: CREAF) the worldwide leader in digital entertainment products for the personal computer and the Internet, today announces an addition to its Jukebox range, the Creative Jukebox Zen Xtra. Designed to give music lovers the power to enjoy their music wherever and whenever they want, it is stylishly slim and light yet holds up to 2000 hours of high-quality audio - that's up to 16,000 songs in MP3 or WMA - on its 60GB hard disk.
Usability is a key feature of the Creative Jukebox Zen Xtra. Its extra-large, cool blue backlit LCD, with icon-based interface and scroller control, enables users to navigate through their favourite titles to compile and edit playlists with ease. The rechargeable and removable lithium-ion battery provides up to a massive 14 hours of continuous operation and downloading tracks is made fast and easy by the USB 2.0 connector, which offers transfer rates of up to a song a second.
Audio quality of the Jukebox Zen Xtra maintains Creative's rich heritage, with an exceptional SNR of up to 98dB in both MP3 and WMA. Complimenting these features on the PC is Creative MediaSourceÔ , the easy-to-use ripping and archiving program that enables users to create digital music libraries that can be transferred to the system. The Jukebox Zen Xtra is also the first Creative Jukebox product to ship with NOMAD ExplorerÔ , which supports the drag-and-drop transfer of music and data files.
"The Jukebox Zen Xtra is an important evolution within our Jukebox family," explains Julie McGuire, european business manager for Digital Audio Players with Creative. "The large display enables easy navigation through an entire music collection, drag-and-drop simplicity makes it effortless to compile and share archives and, with 60GB available for music and data, users have a truly versatile product for data sharing as well as their music collection"
The Jukebox Zen Xtra shares other user-focused features with the rest of the Jukebox family. AudioSyncÔ enables uploading, downloading and synchronising music between multiple PCs, and the 'Find' function allows users to locate tracks in seconds using alphabetical input. Music is indexed by ID3 tag information and conveniently categorised by genre, album and artist, so it's always easy to find.
Music enhancement tools include Smart Volume Management(tm), which matches volume variations across MP3 tracks. Users can choose from the pre-set equaliser settings, such as 'living room', 'jazz club' or 'theatre', and can create their own using the four-band custom equaliser. Other settings also allow users to create their own profiles for screen savers, idle timers and more, and the 'Sleep Timer' and 'Wake to Music' modes add convenience whether users are travelling or at home.
Costing £349.99inc VAT, Creative's Jukebox Zen Xtra will be available to buy at the end of October 2003.
