Erasable writing on your mousemat

Community-powered product design site Quirky has come up with an idea for reinventing the mousepad, which is rapidly becoming extinct thanks to the prevalence of laser and darkfield mice. The idea? You can write on the mousepad.

Just like those kids toys with dry-write erasable surfaces, you just flip up the top sheet to remove the writing from the pad itself. It has a built-in stylus, which sits happily in a corner until you need to make a note to buy some milk, or ring Arnold, or whatever.

It also has a non-slip backpad and should work with any optical/ball-based mouse. It's available now for $9.49, which translates to just under £6. You'll need to add shipping to that, though, to get it back to the UK.
