Chinese case manufacturer XSKN, which is infamous for correctly revealing the shape of the iPhone 3G, as well as offering a case for the "iPhone nano", also produces a range of keyboard skins for Apple software, like Final Cut Pro, and Logic.

However, in Berlin over the weekend, the company was also showing off a prototype of a Bluetooth keyboard for the iPhone that includes quick-launch shortcuts to many of the most popular applications for the handset.

The company told Pocket-lint that it's waiting for Bluetooth keyboard drivers from Apple, but that once those were in place it'd be able to roll out production fairly quickly, thanks to a US firm that specialises in "Made for iPod" stamps. Pricing should be around the £100 mark.

  • It tickles me that with Bluetooth a standard technology, with innumerable protocols that are also standardised, that these guys need 'special drivers' to get a common interface to work properly on Apple's hardware.

It doesn't bode well for how Bluetooth (or a version of it) was ever integrated into the current device that 'special drivers' or hardware based on these are even required.

  • £100 ($165 USD) for a keyboard with some stickers? Wow, I can't wait until they get the technology worked out. I'm going to sell the driver and a packet of "Self Service" stickers for about $5.00 and make a fortune. Posted by VitaminCM, United States
  • ain't work like that. bt is standardized, however you need a driver. windows contains that, iphone does not. once apple makes the driver, it will probably work with all other bt keyboards. Posted by spiderman, hungary
