Loveable cartoon character Spongebob Squarepants has spawned a range of character inspired consumer electronics devices including a DVD player, digital picture frame and boombox.Rather than just opt for a sticker or colour change to what are normally boringly designed gadgets, the makers behind the devices have opted for a full moulded experience hoping to appeal to kids and Spongebob fans alike.
The compact DVD Player is bright yellow, has Spongebob's face on it and will support all the usual DVD formats, but atlas not Blu-ray.
The boombox, which looks even crazier, will come with Aux-in capability, CD/CD-RW playback, analog AM/FM radio, and 2 x 1 watt stereo speakers.
The 7-inch Digital Picture Frame offers SD / SDHC / MMC / MS Pro Duo / USB Flash support, comes preloaded screen savers with classic SpongeBob images, as well as doubling as a calendar and digital clock features, and dual alarm clock with snooze function.
The is also a 7-inch Portable DVD Player, a 1.5-inch Digital Picture Frame Keychain and Mechanical Alarm Clock with AM-FM Radio to quell any Spongebob fetish you might have.
All are available in the UK now from Argos and Amazon. Dad, Toys, DVD, Digital picture frames, SpongeBob SquarePants, Audio, Home Cinema, Cameras, IFA2009
