Apple delays iPod Mini in Europe and Asia

25 March 2004 16:04 GMT / By Stuart Miles

Apple has announced that European and Asian customers hoping to receive their iPod Mini next month will now have to wait until July, three months after the original release date, before the first shipments arrive in the UK.

Apple have blamed the set back on the high level of demand in America and therefore lack of stock to sell to an expectant public here in the UK.

Apple launched the iPod Mini in America on February 20th and has already reached its end of June sales target. Tim Cook, Apple's executive vice president of Worldwide Sales and Operations commented: “The iPod mini is a huge hit with customers in the U.S. and we're sure it will be the same worldwide once we can ramp up our supply in the July quarter.”

The Apple iPod Mini was due to ship in the UK in April. For a review of the Apple iPod Mini see the Gadgets & MP3 channel on Pocket-lint.co.uk
