Philips Aurea 3 debuts

Philips might be pushing ahead with its latest TV invention - the Cinema 21:9 - but that hasn't stopped it rolling out the third iteration of its Aurea range in an attempt to dazzle you into submission with the light fantastic.

The new Aurea 3, as it will be known, will feature the company's latest LED panel as well as getting improvements to the surrounding light bar.

According to Philips, Aurea now has a seamless transition between the screen and the 8mm Ambilight Active Frame, which now includes 250 LEDs.

But it's not just the TV that gets an update, the new model will feature a new remote, pearl in shape that has a slide design to reveal the keys.

Back on the tech side of things you'll get a Full HD display (1920 x 1080p), 80,000:1 Dynamic Contrast ratio on both TV sets, and 100Hz Clear LCD and a 2 millisecond response time.

You'll also get 2 x 15W invisible front firing dome tweeters mounted in the front of the TV that have minimal dimensions, Philips' NetTV technology and an integrated DVB-T/DVB-C/CI+ HDTV receiver.

Connection comes in the guise of five HDMI 1.3a, Wi-Fi, Ethernet and a PC network link (DNLA).

No price as yet, but it's expected to land in the UK shortly.
