Nokia X6, X3 "Comes with Music" phones unveiled

Touchscreen music handsets

2 September 2009 9:57 GMT / By Duncan Geere

Nokia has announced a couple of new handsets at its Nokia World event in Stuttgart. The X6 is a touchscreen music phone with 32GB of onboard storage, whereas the X3 is a slider aimed at the lower end of the market. Both are only available bundled with Comes with Music.

In a little more detail, then, the X6 has a 3.2-inch 16:9 display, a 5-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens, and a dual LED flash, the aforementioned 32GB of onboard memory, a 433MHz processor, GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It should manage 35 hours of music playback before the battery conks out.

The web browser supports Flash Lite, and the handset runs Symbian - the same version as the N97. There's no indication on the press release that it has a 3.5mm headphone jack, so we'll try and clarify that one and let you know. We'd be surprised if it doesn't.

The X3 is the X6's little brother and has a 2.2-inch QVGA screen, 3.2-megapixel camera, a pair of stereo speakers, built-in FM radio, Bluetooth, browser with Flash Lite and proper confirmation of a 3.5mm "AV connector (audio only)" - which sounds like a headphone jack to us.

It's a slider, as previously stated, and lacks the touchscreen of its older brother but comes in considerably cheaper. The X3 will cost 115 Euros (about £100) and the X6 will cost more like 450 Euros (£400 or so). Both handsets will be on the market before Christmas.
