  • I purchased the previous model in 2008, archos 5 with 320 gb of memory, The screen was awesome but everything else was terrible. You had to buy every app including the movie player which did not handle a lot of formats. Even then, the system was slow and crashed repeatedly. They promised 3g connectivity adn never delivered. Internet mail was good, calender useless as you could not import. Adress book was better. Bottom-line was that it did only one thing really well and even then the performance was spotty. \i spent last christmas with the support people who admitted that there were problems and that they were waiting for software updates but they never came. 3G connectivity was a feature on the system back in 2008 but it was not functional and they never did the f.u. to make it so. They really do not do f.u. at all. They just keep launching new models.

Overall, I initially feel in love with the device but soon become frustrated and after going through 3 of them (various issues), I returned it and gave up. The idea is a good one but this company does not follow up on any promises. They are good at delivering new versions but don't support the past versions. Run from this one as you will be seriiously disappointed.
